We are looking for current or prior Law Enforcement and Fire agency personnel that retired and or left on good terms. Licensed Private Investigators are welcomed as 1099 NEC contractors.
This position is unique, rewarding, and challenging, and you will need to be trained in the Guardian process. If not former Public Safety, you will not be able to grasp the need to speak the speak.
This is for California residents only. No out-of-state resumes, please.
POST background accreditation is required to conduct Sworn backgrounds.
You will be trained. We will provide you with what is needed to be a successful background investigator. This is a remote position, however, there is some travel involved to meet applicants for interviews, visit neighbors and conduct file reviews at law enforcement agencies for lateral applicants.
We have a specific need in the following counties: Shasta, Butte, San Benito, and Monterey Counties.

The job Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough background investigations to assess the suitability of applicants for public safety positions.
- Collect and analyze data from various sources, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
- Write detailed reports summarizing findings and recommendations.
- Utilize computer literacy and cloud computing tools to manage and store investigation data securely.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards throughout the investigation process.
- Meet deadlines.
Requirements:
· Computer literate
· Working knowledge of cloud computing, i.e., Box or DropBox
· Ability to meet with clients to build relationships
· Ability to use web-based software portals
· Ability to build your background report in a PDF format using a PDF editor
· Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
· Ability to work concurrent cases effectively
· Ability to use video conference technology
· Ability to keep confidential information secure from others in your home
· Ability to communicate effectively with Guardian staff, clients, and applicants
We will train you in the us of the Guardian Technology portal (Guardian Alliance Technologies) as well as provide you with documented processes and procedures.

Job Type: Part-time
Employee Rate of pay: $25.00 for the first 90 days or 10 backgrounds. There is an evaluation of the working relationship after 90 days.
Employee rate after 90 days: $32.00
Contractors Rate: Depending on experience. Normally between $40 and $50. per hr.
We reimburse for mileage @$1.00 per mile, plus expenses, tolls, records checks, etc.
