POSITION PURPOSE
As a Safety & Security Officer, you are responsible for maintaining overall security of the facility, including the protection of patients, employees and company property. You are responsible for the enforcement of company safety and security policies, performing required rounds and dealing with emergencies as they arise. Investigates security breaches, incidents, and other alarming behavior. Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities
Qualifications
POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
Graduation from High School or GED.
Must have two years of continuous sobriety prior to hire, if recovering from a substance use disorder and participate in a self-help program
EXPERIENCE:
Preferred law enforcement and previous juvenile safety & security work.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
Current CPR
SORA Certified Preferred
KNOWLEDGE AND TRAINING REQUIRED AT TIME OF HIRE:
Knowledge of principles and practices of the discipline.
Adheres to:
- Healthcare Code of Ethics.
- Knowledge of Joint Commission Standards.
- Federal And State Regulations.
Demonstrates Proficiency in Verbal and in Written Communication Skills.
Knowledge of State & Federal Statutes Regarding:

Excellent knowledge of safety & security protocols
Ability to operate security systems and emergency equipment

SPECIFIC AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY TO POSITION

Patrol and monitor the exterior of the building regularly to discourage criminals and ensure the environment is safe and secure.

Patrol and monitor the interior of the building including the hallways, cafe, and group rooms regularly to discourage patients from engaging in unsafe, rowdy and aggressive behaviors.

Monitor for possible elopements and discourage those intentions.

Monitor surveillance cameras to watch out for any disruptions or unlawful activities.

Provide detailed reports on daily / weekly activities and any incidents that may have occurred to the Safety & Security Director.

Test security systems and operate metal detectors when required.

Use provided communication devices such as two-way radios in a clear and concise manner

Perform CPR or first aid if needed.

Protect the privacy of all client information in accordance with GRNH, LLC’s privacy policies, procedures and practices, as required by federal and state law, and in accordance with general principle of professionalism as a healthcare provider. Failure to comply with the company’s policies and procedures on client privacy may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.

May access protected health information (PHI) and other patent information only to the extent that is necessary to complete your job duties. The incumbent may only share such information with those who have a need to know specific client information you have in your possession to complete their job responsibilities related to treatment, payment or other GRNH, LLC operations.

Expected to report, without the threat of retaliation, any concerns regarding GRNH, LLC’s policies and procedures on client privacy and any observed practices in violation of the policy to their supervisor.
