Database Developer

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
• 3 years of Database experience and highly proficient in Microsoft SQL Server

Requirements

• SQL competence (query performance tuning, index management, etc.) and a grasp of database structure.
• Proven experience as a Database Developer, Data Engineer, or similar role.
• Proficient in Computer Science and software engineering.
• Proficiency in database view design and optimization.
• Knowledge of at least one ETL tool (Informatica, Snowflake, SSIS, Talend, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of Tableau and experience with performance optimizations.
• Passionate about sophisticated data structures and problem solutions
• Quickly learn new data tools and ideas.
• Experience developing and delivering software solutions in a team setting.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Familiarity with CM processes and troubleshooting database-related issues.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop user-friendly database interfaces, ensuring seamless integration between front-end applications and back-end databases.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest SQL feature releases and leverage these advancements to improve database performance, functionality, and maintainability.
• Assist with Change Management to address and resolve any database-related issues that arise during system upgrades, patches, and version migrations.
• Design, implement, and manage data warehousing solutions to support business intelligence and analytics. Create processes to integrate data from various sources.
• Design and optimize database views and tables to ensure efficient data retrieval and integration across various applications.
• Identify and implement improvements to the Tableau systems, focusing on performance optimization, faster data retrieval, and real-time reporting.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., developers, data analysts, business analysts) to understand data requirements, business needs, and create appropriate database structures. Document database designs, processes, and best practices.
• Ensures the accuracy of data.
• For ETL applications, create logical and physical data flow models.
• Continuously monitor database performance and make necessary adjustments to improve speed, scalability, and stability. Implement indexing, query optimization, and other techniques to reduce bottlenecks.
• Ability to find and debug problems as they arise in their own code and others.
• Maintain and adhere to security compliance standards implemented.
• Oversee deployment scripts.
• Peer review other’s code.
