Purpose of the role
The Escrow Specialist is responsible for management of escrow accounts. Including the collection of escrow information; tax, insurance, PMI, flood information and updating of the customers escrow account. Responsible for remittance of escrow payments to the appropriate insurance company, tax authority, vendor, etc. Timely review and resolution of non-escrowed insurance cancellations and past due tax bills. Ensuring that all aspects of the escrow analysis are completed timely and accurately. Requires a passion for helping others, the ability to communicate professionally with clients and co-workers in a timely manner with a positive attitude.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for all processing activities related to loan escrow account management; Mortgage insurance payments, terminations, cancellation requests and reporting.
- Reviewing and distributing mail for insurance and property tax bills
- Acts as the primary contact for all customer-service matters related to loan escrow accounts.
- Ensure escrow accounts are handled in accordance with applicable regulations and investor guidelines.
- Preparing overnight packages for escrow payments, taxes, insurance, and PMI from borrowers and remitting those funds to the appropriate parties
- Ensure escrow analysis processes are completely timely and
- Resolves complex customer issues accurately and timely
- Works with third party vendors as required.
- Operate in partnership with other departments and divisions.
- Performs other duties and special projects as assigned by senior management
Education/Experience
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Excellent communication skills (telephone, e-mail, and in-person)
- Experience working in a fast paced, team environment, required
- Excellent customer service skills
- Experience working both independently and as a team player, required
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills that include the ability manage multiple tasks, set priorities and meet deadlines, required
- Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through
- Experience with tax authorities/municipalities preferred
- Experience with escrow analysis preferred
- 1 to 2 years of related experience in mortgage loan servicing with direct experience in escrow servicing, preferred
- Working knowledge of key technology associated with mortgage loan servicing preferred
- High School diploma or equivalent work experience.
