What are the responsibilities and job description for the Smart Home and Security Technician position at Guardian Systems, LLC?
We are currently seeking experienced Smart Home and Alarm Technicians to join our team! You will be working on Residential projects. The candidate we are looking for would be responsible for installing & troubleshooting Security & Life Safety systems, central vac, audio visual systems, and home automation. Knowledge of Honeywell Security Devices, Alarm.com, Sonos is a plus.
Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of how an alarm system works
- Experience with Alarm panels such as: Ademco, GE, DSC, 2GIG, Resideo and others
- Ability to troubleshoot technical problems
- Excellent customer service skills
- Good driving record Valid driver’s license (License is mandatory where required)
Customers interaction: Install, Replace, or Repair system components as assigned; panels, peripheral devices, audible/visual alarms, etc.
- Driving to customer homes to perform service. Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; frequent stops, kneeling, crouching and/or crawling.
- Diagnose causes of problems or failures in systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and systems repair.
- Customer education, training including a system demonstration.
- Conduct a thorough walkthrough/site evaluation with the customer to review work orders to make sure the system meets their needs and expectations.
- Install and test the operations of all equipment to ensure proper functionality and signal verification required to establish service.
- Identify opportunities to improve the use and functionality of the customers' system and provide those recommendations.
- Maintain safety practices to prevent injury and damage to property.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace/job site, ensuring customers satisfaction after the interaction.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with Security & Audio/video Installations required
- Have in depth knowledge of security systems operation, functions, and wiring requirements
- Understands cable types and technologies and can distinguish which types to use in installation scenarios
- Understanding of material types used in residential construction and standards for drilling/running low voltage wiring
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within standard accepted practices.
- Ability to work in a clean and unobtrusive manner
- Must have or be willing to obtain basic tools to perform job responsibilities.
- Must be able to clear a background check and drug screening
- Clear MVR required
- Technical or Vocational related schooling is a plus

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
