Bookkeeper/Accounting Manager
This key leadership role reports to the Director and Board of Directors. Their main focus of duties is on financial maintenance, efficiency, and continued operations of the organization through direct oversight of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable. Accounting Manager is responsible as main Case Manager over all Conservator clients, as well as managing that process from inquiry to final report.
Essential Functions:
General/Program Duties
- Directs day-to-day financial operations and oversees administration and implementation of billing, accounts receivable deposits, payroll, and accounts payable for expenses of the organization. Ensures the organization can pass any audit of financial records for clients or the organization itself.
- Coordinates and implements organizational policies, procedures, and services of financial operations of the organization, including working with accountant’s office for filing taxes and other issues as needed. Includes oversight of Representative Payee services provided by other staff.
- Assures compliance with all accounting standards and best practices, legal and regulatory requirements of fiduciary management.
- Develops and utilizes long- and short-range planning processes to maximize financial resources for the organization.
- Ensures goals and strategic business plans utilize sound financial management
- Promotes good stewardship throughout the agency.
- Assures the organization has in place sound risk management policies, including adequate insurance coverage.
- Manage documents and inventory of the lockbox for client documentation.
- Keeps the board informed of the financial issues, needs and operations of the organization with regular meetings.
- Provides financial leadership, direction, and management for all agency staff.
- Manages Conservator and Rep Payee client’s physical assets, taking control of money and overseeing use of assets per organization policies and protocols.
- Oversee Rep Payee’s payment of client bills and creation of budgets per Social Security guidelines and requirements.
- Communicates with Social Security, banks, Case managers, staff etc. of clients to make sure needs are met, utilizing appropriate local and community resources.
- Reports annually to the court for Conservator and Trust clients. Assures quarterly reports for Rep Payee are completed and filed appropriately.
- Manages annual Social Security payee reports and audits for Payee clients.
- Other duties and assignments as directed.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated understanding of business finance, budgeting and reporting
- Experience with federal, state, and local compliance matters
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
- Successful completion of a comprehensive background check and credit check upon hire
Performance Requirements:

● Working Conditions: Office environment, occasional client contact, occasional inclement weather.
● Education, Experience and Training: Bachelor’s Degree in business management, accounting, or related field or higher required, with preference of two years direct experience with the elderly or persons with disabilities. Successful financial background with 3-5 years experience in management and operations
● Knowledge of commonly used accounting programs, software, advanced technology comfort and competency.
● Maintain valid driver’s license and car insurance.

Pay: $43,000.00 - $48,000.00 per year
