Seasonal Dock Hand Position
We are seeking a seasonal dock hand to assist with all boathouse services offered, quality control, and cash handling procedures. The successful candidate will maintain a clean and safe dock area, assist guests safely getting in and out of boats, and secure company property.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe environment at the boating area, following appropriate procedures and guidelines.
- Assist with docking of boats and safely help customers on and off rental equipment.
- Perform boathouse maintenance such as cleaning, weeding, removing trash, organizing, and ordering supplies.
- Provide excellent customer service to guests, while directing customer issues to supervisor or unit manager.
- Provide First Aid & CPR to guests if needed.
- Process transactions using cash register, calculator, or other price equipment.
- Maintain awareness of safety issues and report them immediately to your manager.
Requirements:
- Partial High School education; High School Diploma/G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
- Strong customer service abilities; actively looks for ways to assist customers and coworkers.
- Ability to recognize when a problem has occurred and communicate it to management.
- Must be able to swim or be willing to wear personal flotation device while on duty.
- CPR/First Aid Certification (can be trained upon hired).
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and move about on foot to accomplish tasks.
- Lifting, carrying, and pushing up to 25 lbs. regularly, 30-35 lbs. frequently, and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Frequently immerses hands in water and work in wet and slippery conditions.
- Withstanding temperature extremes in outdoor environments and inclement weather.
