Essential Functions:
- Sort high volume of laundry and operate laundry machinery to clean and sanitize clothes and linens.
- Load and unload machinery, working safely with detergents and cleaning solutions.
- Sort and fold by hand all clean linens, towels, and uniforms.
- Clean laundry machinery, filters, and vents regularly, maintaining a clean workspace.
- Sew and mend facility linens as necessary.
- Maintain accurate inventory controls.
- Follow safe handling procedures for potentially contaminated linens.
- Maintain office and restroom cleanliness through regular tasks.
- Report safety issues to management immediately.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma/G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
- Strong sanitation habits and customer service abilities.
- Ability to recognize problems and communicate them to management.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Frequent movement between locations, bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and standing for extended periods.
- Lifting up to 60 pounds occasionally, 30-35 pounds frequently, and 25 pounds regularly.
- Standing for the entire workday and climbing steps regularly.
- Withstanding temperature extremes in warehouse and laundry areas.
- Working safely with chemicals and speaking clearly in English.
Equipment Used:
- Commercial washer and dryer, rolling cart, broom, mop, vacuum cleaner, laundry soap, general cleaning supplies.
- Cleaning Supplies, including detergents, chemicals, vacuums, mops, brooms, scourers, hand towels, etc.
- Required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): goggles, latex and rubber gloves, rubber boots, apron, protective clothing covering exposed skin and wounds.
