The Gift Shop and Food Service Operations Specialist is a key member of our Guest Services team at Mount Rainier. In this critical role, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the gift shop and food service areas, ensuring that guests receive exceptional service while working closely with the General Manager to achieve business objectives.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead and manage employees to guarantee efficient task completion and maintain a safe working environment.
- Contribute to staff development through training and scheduling initiatives.
- Accurately process sales transactions using POS systems, assist colleagues when needed.
- Build positive relationships with guests by answering questions, resolving issues, and providing excellent service.
- Oversee store displays, maintaining cleanliness, organization, and visual appeal.
- Verify inventory shipments, organize and display merchandise effectively.
- Support the upkeep of departmental records, including schedules, payroll, deposits, and cash reports.
Essential Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent is necessary.
- Prior experience working in national park gift shops and/or food service environments is highly valued.
- Proven ability to learn and master POS systems and other technology tools.
- Possession of or ability to obtain ServSafe Manager and MAST/TIPS certifications within the specified timeframe.
