Job Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Greets guests with a friendly smile as they enter the shop, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
- Provides advice on clothing and accessories, helping guests select the best options for their needs and ensuring they're properly equipped for their trip to Giants Ridge.
- Processes transactions accurately, including calculating sales prices, receiving payments and issues receipts or refunds as needed.
- Completes cash drawer and sales reconciliation at the end of each shift.
- Maintains a clean and organized point-of-sale area, providing a welcoming environment for guests.
- Stocks and maintains merchandise on the sales floor, keeping clothing and accessories neatly displayed and easily accessible.
- Assists with periodic inventory counts and ensures stock levels are up-to-date.
- Sells tickets for summer mountain sports activities, ensuring guests have the right access to their desired attractions.
- Assists with climbing wall operations during the summer, ensures the proper use of equipment and offers guidance to guests.
- Provides instructions on the proper use of Giants Ridge facilities and equipment, ensuring guests' safety and enjoyment.
- Supports special events and activities ensuring they run smoothly and delivering a positive guest experience.
- Stays alert to safety concerns and reports any issues to a manager in order to maintain a safe environment for guests and staff.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Partial High School education; High School Diploma/G.E.D. preferred.
- Ability to interact with guests in a friendly, helpful, and professional manner.
- Ability to address customer concerns and resolve issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Ability to maintain accuracy in cash handling, including balancing cash drawers and performing sales reconciliations.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team to achieve store goals and deliver exceptional service.
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously without compromising customer service or quality.
- Safety and security awareness - knowledge of store policies, procedures and safety protocols to ensure a safe environment for both guests and staff.
- Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the unit. Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment.
- Lifting, carrying, and pushing up to 10 lbs. regularly, 10-15 lbs. frequently, and up to 25 lbs. occasionally.
- Withstanding temperature extremes in indoor/outdoor environments.
- Reading and writing work-related documents in English.
- Speech recognition and clarity, including the ability to understand the speech of customers and co-workers and the ability to speak clearly so that you can be understood by customers and co-workers in English.
- Constantly communicates and receives verbal communication with other employees in a sometimes fast paced environment.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays according to department needs.
- Physical presence at the job site is essential to perform job duties.
- Point-of-sale (POS) system and credit card machine.
- Typical office equipment (computer, telephone, copier)
- Climbing wall equipment after completion of training (summer season only)
