Overnight Front Desk Clerk and Night Audit
The overnight front desk clerk and night audit position is responsible for overseeing the overnight staff at Paradise Inn, including the lobby, kitchen, front desk, and night security. This role fills in as relief for Night Security and Night Audit. The position reports to the Front Desk Manager.
Responsibilities
- Guest Service: Respond to overnight guest inquiries and resolve guest concerns and complaints.
- Night Audit: Perform the duties of relief night audit.
- Assist Night Security: Provide assistance to night security in employee and guest related issues.
- Morning Preparation: Ensure morning staff arrives as scheduled and F&B departments are opened on time.
- Uniforms and Name Tags: Ensure employees are in appropriate uniforms and have name tags.
- Trouble or Fire Alarms: Respond to trouble or fire alarms and correspond with dispatch as required.
- Enforce Rules and Policies: Enforce rules and policies to employees within the hotel.
Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma/G.E.D. equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Clerical Skills: Clerical skills including typing, filing, office machine operations, cash register operation, maintenance of records, and the ability to undertake multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Computer Proficiency: Computer proficiency, especially MS Office software suite.
- Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrated talent for interacting with a wide variety of people; ability to effectively organize and coordinate multiple priorities; ability to learn and develop new skills; ability to problem solve.
- Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal, administrative, telephone and other communication skills.
- Hotel Experience: Must have hotel management experience, prior front desk and/or night audit experience is preferred.
- Availability: Must be able to work overnight.
Physical and Mental Requirements
- Physical Activity: Move about to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the unit. Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment.
- Lifting: Lift, carry, and push up to 5 lbs. regularly, 10-15 lbs. frequently, and up to 30 lbs. occasionally.
- Standing and Walking: Able to stand and walk for extended periods of time and climb multiple flights of stairs regularly.
- Speech and Language: Speech recognition and clarity, including the ability to understand the speech of guests and co-workers and the ability to speak clearly in order to be understood by same in English. Ability to read and write work-related documents in English.
