The Retail Clerk is a key role in our team, responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring a seamless shopping experience. As a Retail Clerk, you will be the face of our organization, interacting with guests from around the world and providing them with information on our products, promotions, and policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers entering the Gift Shop and thank each customer before they leave.
- Answer customers' questions and provide information on company products, promotions, and policies.
- Describe merchandise and explain its use, operation, and care to customers.
- Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on customer needs and desires.
- Compute sales prices, total purchases, receive and process cash or credit payment.
- Issue receipts, refunds, credit, or change due to customers accurately.
- Maintain and take responsibility for cash register and contents within.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/G.E.D. preferred.
- Ability to communicate and attend to guests with the highest standard of customer service.
- Ability to pass cash handling training.
- Mathematic skills.
- National Park gift shop experience preferred.
Working Conditions
- Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the unit.
- Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment.
- Lifting, carrying, and pushing up to 10 lbs. regularly, 10-15 lbs. frequently, and up to 25 lbs. Occasionally.
- Ability to stand for the entire workday.
