Position Summary
Guggenheim Securities Information Management (“GSIM”) is seeking an experienced Head of Data Services to join its Information Management Leadership team.
Reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer, this person will be responsible for overseeing the enterprise-wide data management strategy, data governance, data quality, and data analytics initiatives. Leading efforts to maximize the value of our data assets while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards. This executive role requires a strategic thinker who can bridge the gap between data management and business objectives.
Essential Job Functions
- Lead the architectural design and implementation of cloud-based solutions on Microsoft Azure Cloud Services.
- Collaborate with business leaders, IM teams, and stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Define and execute a comprehensive data strategy that supports the organization's business goals.
- Align data initiatives with the company's strategic plan and ensure data-driven decision-making.
- Establish and enforce data governance frameworks, policies, and standards.
- Ensure compliance with data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and industry best practices.
- Lead efforts to improve data quality, integrity, and security across the organization.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of data architecture and infrastructure.
- Promote the use of advanced analytics, data science, and business intelligence tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to derive actionable insights from data.
- Build and lead a high-performing data team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to data professionals within the organization.
- Act as a liaison between business units and data teams to ensure alignment and understanding of data initiatives.
- Communicate the value and impact of data-driven solutions to senior leadership and stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Comprehensive understanding of data management principles, including data governance, data quality, and data architecture.
- Proficiency in data analytics and the ability to leverage data for strategic business insights.
- Strong leadership skills to guide and develop data teams and foster a data-driven culture.
- Ability to align data strategy with business objectives and drive innovation.
- Familiarity with data technologies, including data analytics tools, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
- Experience building on modern data stacks, and cloud-based technologies: Azure, Snowflake, etc.
- Strong knowledge of building reusable data pipelines.
- Experience of implementing an enterprise-wide data catalogue.
- Understanding of data security and compliance requirements to protect data assets.
- Excellent communication skills to articulate complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to build strong relationships across departments to ensure collaborative data initiatives.
- Strong analytical mindset to assess data challenges and develop effective solutions.
- Ability to adapt to technological changes and regulatory environments.
- Results-oriented leader with a proven track record of leading data transformation initiatives
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
- 15 years of experience in data architecture and related technologies within financial services.
Work Location
- Currently, this role is expected to be in the New York office Tuesday through Thursday.
Salary
- Annual base salary between $225,000 - 250,000.
- The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this position. Actual base salaries may vary depending on factors such as location and experience. The range listed reflects base salary only, and the total compensation package may include other components such as incentive compensation.
