Position Overview

The Associate Director of Contract Channel Implementation will be responsible for developing, negotiating, and implementing master service agreements and contracts with wholesalers, specialty distributors, and specialty pharmacies. This role involves collaborating closely with internal stakeholders to create tailored contracting strategies that expand the company’s market presence and ensure regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will have a strong background in market access, a deep understanding of pharmaceutical distribution and specialty pharmacy dynamics, and the ability to manage complex projects from inception through execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contract Development: Create and maintain Master Service Agreements (MSAs) and contracts with wholesalers, specialty distributors, and specialty pharmacies.
  • Strategic Implementation: Lead the development and execution of channel strategies for the company’s product portfolio, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Market Insights: Monitor trading partners and market shifts to anticipate changes, adapt strategies, and capitalize on emerging opportunities.
  • Relationship Management: Build and strengthen relationships with wholesalers, distributors, and specialty pharmacies to enhance the company’s presence and market competitiveness.
  • Compliance & Regulatory: Ensure all contracts and channel activities comply with pharmaceutical regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Project Leadership: Manage cross-functional projects, providing leadership and guidance to internal teams and external partners to ensure timely and effective implementations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) from an accredited institution; MBA preferred.
  • 5 years of relevant market access experience.
  • 3 years of contracting experience.
  • 2 years of program or account management experience.
  • 3 years of leadership and/or project management experience, with a proven ability to drive initiatives internally and externally through to completion.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
  • 3 years of experience working with both retail and specialty pharmacies.
  • Familiarity with wholesalers, specialty distribution, and specialty pharmacy industry processes.

Ideal Background

Candidates with experience at major pharmaceutical companies such as Merck, AbbVie, GSK, Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Lilly, Zoetis, Roche Diagnostics, or Virbac are strongly preferred for a fast hiring process.
