Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Environmental Safety Specialist to lead and enhance the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) initiatives at our Ruston, LA plant. This role focuses on developing innovative safety policies and advancing our EHS program to achieve a zero-harm workplace.
Key Responsibilities
Lead EHS initiatives and roll out safety policies at the plant.
Collaborate with plant operations and corporate safety teams.
Develop creative solutions to enhance the EHS program.
Report to the Plant Manager while working closely with the Divisional Safety Manager and Regional Environmental Manager.
Manage safety compliance in a non-union facility operating 20 hours a day, 4 days a week.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Safety and Health, Environmental, or equivalent.
Prior Safety Training (OSHA 30 Hour, Certificate in Occupational Safety & Health).
7 years of experience in a safety and/or environmental role in an industrial setting.
Experience as an EHS Leader for at least 3 years or recognized as a Subject Matter Expert in a specific EHS discipline.
Professional Certifications in Safety, Environmental, or Occupational Health (e.g., CSP, CIH, OHST, SMS, CEM, CHMM).
Working knowledge of federal safety and environmental laws (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
