We are seeking to add one full time pharmacy technician and two casual pharmacy technicians to our team serving a clinic pharmacy in St. Paul, Minnesota.
· Answers phones for the pharmacy department and directs calls to appropriate personnel.
· Prepackages, prepares, labels and hands out prescriptions after they are checked by a registered pharmacist.
· Maintains cash registers, credit card machines and reporting for cash transactions.
· Prepares daily deposits for the cashier’s office.
· Bills and credits patient medications.
· Stocks inventory in Pharmacy.
· Routinely checks and removes outdated and expired medications.
· Files prescriptions and reports.
· Maintains the pharmacy in a clean and organized fashion.
· Primary data entry for community prescriptions.
· Triages orders, determines priorities, processes orders and notifies the pharmacist as appropriate.
· Performs various calculations to determine the correct dose using weight
· Identifies the appropriate product to process based on the prescription order.
· Triages insurance rejections and initiates prior authorization claims as needed.
· Uses appropriate pharmaceutical-medical terms, abbreviations and symbols.
· Maintains a working knowledge of general chemical and physical properties of drugs.
· Assist with other duties as assigned but only after appropriate training.
Minimum Education/ Work Experience:
· High School Diploma or GED
· Graduate of an accredited Pharmacy Technician Program or a 240 hour employer based Technician training Program or 1,000 hours of Pharmacy experience.
· Ability to communicate with other employees and the public.
· Possess strong interpersonal skills; be a team player and promote positive team environment.
· Excellent customer service skills.
· Demonstrate good decision-making skills, problem solving techniques, and possess the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
· Ability to use a computer and associated programs.
· Ability to understand oral and written instructions.
· Ability to learn and apply pharmacy procedures and interpret prescriptions.
· Ability to apply basic math skills.
· Ability to use computer effectively
· Bilingual in Spanish
· Knowledge of Pharmacy computer systems.
· Insurance and Billing Experience.
· Current Pharmacy Technician Registration with MN State Board.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $27.00 per hour
