What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Support Professional (DSP) position at Guided Steps NJ Corp?
Guided Steps NJ is seeking a DSP to work with an adult, with special needs, in a one-to-one capacity, in their homes and community. This case is specifically located in Monmouth County.
The role of the DSP is to assist individuals in their Daily living skills, socialization, traveling, shopping, meal preparation, hygiene, behavioral skills deficits, and much more. Everyone we serve is unique and so are their needs, we tailor services based on these needs to ensure individuals are able meet the goals most meaningful to them.

Minimum Requirements:
- Is passionate about working with Individuals with I/DD
- Must be 18 years or older
- Ability to pass required background check, State, Federal, Central Registry and Drug tests
- Complete/possess all required trainings
- Must possess a valid driver's license that is currently in good standing with a good record
Additional Requirement for DSPs working with individuals with behavioral deficits
- Ability to implement instructional and behavior support programs
- Follow through with ABA-based intervention techniques such as chaining, prompting, incidental teaching, fading, etc.
- Collect, summarize, and reports data
- Makes use of/recommends materials, equipment, and supplies
- Additional PBIS trainings
- Carries out other duties as may be requested by the Clinical Director or Behavioral Assessor
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week
