GuideIT is a US based technology services company focused on providing value to its customers through technology alignment and optimization. We are currently looking for a DevOps/Cloud Systems Engineer to join our team. This is a hybrid opportunity based in our Plano, Texas office.
About the Role
The Cloud Team at GuideIT focuses on adding value to GuideIT’s customer base as well as internal customers. We focus on architecture and automation. The DevOps Engineer will be a part of our cloud team which focuses on AWS. You will work primarily with our Cloud team supporting Customer Engineering and Product teams to enable code to move through automated testing and scanning tools while moving into environments. This role requires a someone who is highly adaptable and able to quickly resolve problems as well as prevent them by anticipating issues and fully designing solutions to recurring problems.
Required Skills
- Advanced knowledge of AWS
- Expert at designing and implementing automated processes
- Strong understanding of CI/CD processes and tools
- Significant experience with either Linux or Windows
- Windows: must have demonstrable experience with supporting custom code environments, as well as maintaining AD in a highly dynamic environment (autoscaling environments)
- Linux: must have demonstrable experience with NAS/SAN, including HBA configuration, volume provisioning and disk partitioning. Also experience with less common file systems such as btrfs, xfs, zfs-on-linux, etc. Must also have experience with file system recovery.
- Advanced skills with clustered workloads, designing and implementing with an emphasis on resiliency and scalability
- Designing, optimizing, troubleshooting, extending and supporting customer environments and platforms
- Significant Experience with Terraform (writing, supporting, pipelining)
- Strong understanding of git and other source control tools
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, etc)
- Understanding of artifact management and container image management and common tools for this (ECR, Docker Hub and Nexus)
- Experience with auto scaling EC2 instances, as well as scaling with AWS managed services (RDS, EKS, etc)
Desired Skills
- Significant experience with Kubernetes
- Understanding of management tools like AWS LBC (Load Balancer Controller), Traefik, Velero, Cert-Manager, and Metrics Server on Kubernetes
- Understanding of Ansible remoting on Windows
- Experience with AWS Systems Manager, Fleet Manager, State Manager and Patch Manager
- Experience with PLG and/or ELK stack
- Experience with Jenkins, writing new and supporting existing pipeline jobs (groovy and declarative)
- Understanding of compliance frameworks (HIPAA, PCI, etc)
Education and Certifications
- Certifications in AWS
