The candidate selected to assume the role of a Patient Service Specialist will be part of a fast growing, highly innovative healthcare organization. Position Responsibilities
A Patient Service Specialist will play a very key role in the success of the facility and the patient’s overall experience. Strict adherence to organizational Protocols and Values is a must. A Patient Service Specialist is responsible for but not limited to:
- entering new patients into the patient database
- verifying insurance
- getting authorization from insurance companies
- putting together patient charts
- scheduling patient appointments
- collecting copays and contracted rates from patients
- coordinating admissions
- auditing charts for completeness and obtaining any missing information from the clinical team
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Previous patient services experience in a medical office setting preferred
- Must successfully pass a Level 2 background screen and drug test
- Able to perform the duties expected for an active role in a busy office environment (standing, walking, teaching, public speaking, pulling, pushing, lifting, etc.)
- Ability to use all necessary office equipment (faxes, copiers, computers, telephones, etc.)
- Able to stand and work up to 12-hours in a day
