We are looking for a talented and curious technical writer who is passionate about creating compelling content that makes our developer users successful.
As a programmer writer at Guidewire, you will use your ability to grasp technical concepts to convert developer-speak into content that speaks to the user. You will collaborate with cross-functional groups to create online and in-product content. You will use your passion for customer success to make sure users get the information they need to make their jobs easier.
To succeed in this role, you must have excellent communication skills, strong technical skills, a hands-on approach, and a self-motivated attitude. Expect to work in a fast-changing and flexible environment where collaboration is key.
Job Description
Key responsibilitiesWork closely with developers, product managers, and user experience designers to understand our products and target audiencesCollaborate with other team members to plan, design, and develop content for our cloud-based solutionsCreate developer documentation, including API reference topics, developer guides, tutorials, and moreParticipate in initiatives to make our content more impactful and relevant to our different audiencesRequired skills and experience
5 years of experience creating content for enterprise software applicationsExcellent writing and communication skillsKnowledge of best practices in technical communication, information architecture, and information deliveryGood understanding of topic-based authoringExperience documenting APIs (preferably REST APIs) and writing sample codeAbility to get information from subject matter experts and learn by experimentingBA / BS in Technical Writing, English, Computer Science, or other related fields, or comparable experiencePreferably, you also have some of the following :
Knowledge of web applications and cloud platformsKnowledge of Swagger and GitGood understanding of XML, DITA, and MarkdownExperience creating documentation designed around developer use casesExperience creating videos, walk-throughs, tutorials, or other forms of user assistanceExperience working in an Agile environmentAbout the team

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
