JOB DESCRIPTION: Window, Millwork, and Door Delivery Driver
SUMMARY: The Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transport of Windows, Millwork, and Door (WMD) Delivery to and from specified locations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: (other duties may be assigned)
- Operate trucks according to company safety policies and procedures
- Ensure timely delivery of company’s orders
- Ensure trucks are operated safely and securely stored
- Strap and unstrap loads for delivery and upon delivery
- Maintain daily record of deliveries
- Communicate efficiently with Yard Operations Manager and customers
- Conduct all activities in a safe manner, adhering to company safety standards
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or GED is required. 1 year driving experience, minimum. Continuing education through monthly safety training; similar courses (defensive driving, etc.)
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Basic knowledge of safety and building materials, a familiarity with city and/or surrounding areas, and the ability to read, write, and maintain a Driver’s Log. Must have stress and time management skills. Clean motor vehicle record.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Bilingual in Spanish and English is not a requirement, but is preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: OSHA 10 hour is preferred. Current, valid driver’s license is required.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS: To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to lift and pull a minimum of 70 pounds and withstand working in variable daily weather conditions.
