Produce Associate

We’re looking for a new produce team member with a curious mind, an appreciation for physical work, and an affection for vegetables.

As a produce associate, your primary responsibilities are all about maintaining the beauty and quality of the heart of our store—the produce department. You will regularly monitor the quality of all fruits, vegetables, and other produce, rotate product regularly, unload trucks, maintain a clean and attractive work environment, and offer customer service to shoppers trying to decide what vegetables to bring home for dinner.

Schedule: This position is for the afternoon shift. Shift times are 12pm-8pm

Pay: $16.00-18.50, commensurate with experience.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Build & rotate produce displays.
• Check produce for quality & freshness.
• Stock and clean shelves, bins, and food preparation areas.
• Maintain back stock in good order.
• Provide excellent customer service, addresses needs of customers in a timely and effective manner and models suggestive selling techniques; answers phones and pages promptly and courteously.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:

• In an 8-hour workday: standing/walking 6-8 hours.
• Frequent lifting, bending, reaching, and standing (Must be able to lift 50 pounds).
• Ability to use tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.

Requirements & Experience:

• Produce or retail experience preferred
• Pallet Jack experience preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred
• Prior grocery experience preferred
