Purpose:
This role is tasked with supervision of staff who serve individuals experiencing serious mental illness. The supervisor will do this by developing, supporting, and growing our Behavioral Health Home team. This program supports clients by promoting wellness, and improve management of health conditions including mental illness, substance use disorders and chronic physical health conditions along with addressing the social determinants of health.
The Program Supervisor ensures the staff on these teams are fully trained, connected to resources, in compliance with statutes and regulations, and ready to deliver outstanding services to our clients. The Program Supervisor is responsible for working in collaboration with a licensed nurse integration specialist to ensure holistic service provision to our clients.

- Provide leadership and supervision to assigned staff to ensure compliance with agency policies and standards.
- Provide supervision to team staff members with focus on providing services to clients according to their functioning level, readiness for change, and facilitation of appropriate interventions in areas of health.
- Evaluate performance of staff supervised.
- Communicate responsibilities and expectations to staff, maintain communications with employees and provide ongoing oral and written assessment of their performance.
- Facilitate regular program meetings to discuss changes in client needs that might necessitate changes in level of care, resources, etc.
- Assure that individual records are complete, reflect the service being provided and meet agency standards.
- Develop and maintain relationships with social service providers, community providers, county providers, etc.
- Collaborate with staff in problem-solving and advocacy for clients with a goal of building staff skills and independence.
- Promote an inclusive, diverse, culturally competent, and respectful work environment.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Social service resources and community resources.
- The needs of people living with mental illness.
- The needs of people and issues facing individuals experiencing or with a history of SMI.
- Referral processes for psychiatry, primary care, specialty care, etc.
- Ability to self-motivate, manage competing priorities and adhere to deadlines
- Ability to adapt to changing conditions and willingness to champion new business processes within the program
Education and Experiences:
- A Master’s Degree in behavioral sciences.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience leading the provision of services to people with mental illness is required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in social work, psychology or human services related field OR
- Qualified as a mental health practitioner within the state of Minnesota by one of the following:
- At least 30 semester/45 quarter credits AND 2000 hours of supervised experience in the provision of mental health services.
- 4,000 hours of supervised experience in the provision of mental health services.
Preferred:
- At least one year (full-time) experience in a leadership position responsible for managing the performance of direct reports in a social service setting.
Additional Requirements:
- Must not be actively receiving services from Guild and must not have received services within the last two years.
Working Conditions:
This position is based at Guild St. Paul area; however, the majority of work is in the field as services are provided to individuals wherever needed. This position requires transporting individuals in personal vehicle regularly. This position has the potential to come into contact with bodily fluids, communicable diseases, tobacco smoke, and/or household pets.

The salary range for this position is between $58,000 to $62,000 annually. The range reflects the minimum and maximum salary for the position. Compensation will depend on the candidate’s professional experience, skills, and relevant education, training, and certifications.
