ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PRINCIPAL

Position: Pine Bush Elementary School Principal. Strong Benefits Package Available

Location: Pine Bush Elementary School

Salary: $110,000 - $130,000 based on experience and in accordance with Guilderland Principals' Association (GPA) contract

The Guilderland Central School District is currently looking for candidates who possess:

• NYS School Building Leader certification

• 5 or more years as a professional educator with successful experience as a teacher and administrator, preferably at the elementary level

Responsibilities: The Principal is the instructional leader of the building and is responsible for the overall operation and success of Pine Bush Elementary School. The Principal engages in these five key practices: shaping the vision of academic success for all students; creating a climate that is hospitable to education; cultivating leadership in others; improving instruction; and managing people, data and processes to foster school improvement. Specific areas of responsibility include curriculum and instruction, staff supervision, personnel administration, student discipline, parent relations, community relations, school climate, development and administration of the school's budget and other duties assigned by the Superintendent.

The Principal reports directly to the Superintendent of Schools.

Community: Guilderland is a residential community covering 66 square miles adjacent to Albany and near Schenectady. Many of its 35,000 residents are attracted to the community because of its excellent school system and its proximity to major area employers such as The State University of New York at Albany, Albany Medical Center and New York State Government.

School District: The Guilderland Central School District is comprised of five elementary schools, one middle school and one high school. The district serves approximately 4,881 students and enjoys a strong reputation for academic excellence and commitment to meeting the needs of the whole child.

Pine Bush: Pine Bush Elementary School is home to approximately 474 students in kindergarten through fifth grade. In addition to the building principal, there are 79 employees including teachers, teaching assistants, aides and monitors, cafeteria workers, custodians and office staff.
