Description
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
An employee in this class applies casefinding and educational techniques in working with individuals having sexual transmitted infection and other communicable or chronic diseases. Work is performed under the general direction of the health director or clinic director.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Duties and Tasks
- Interviews individuals to provide education regarding their illness and to elicit contact and suspect information.
- Follows up on interviews in tracing persons who may have contracted a communicable or chronic disease and motivates them to medical facilities for examination and required treatment.
- Maintains case records and provides information from them to other health officials, physicians and authorized persons.
- Prepares cases for prosecution when communicable disease laws are violated.
- Assists in laboratory examinations of individuals attending the sexual health clinics.
- Performs related work as required.

Minimum Education & Experience
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university. (Paid employment in public health casefinding work may be substituted for the required education on a year for year basis.)
