Position: MUSIC ASSISTANT
Location: Baldwin Middle School, Guilford, Connecticut
Description: Duties will include assisting orchestra teacher with large and small group instruction, remediation for students, marking orchestral parts, modifying music for students, tuning instruments, minor string instrument repair and monitoring instrument inventory to make sure instruments are in good playing order.
Minimum Qualifications: Knowledge of teaching good beginner string technique, required; Suzuki training preferred. Experience working in a school or with children, preferred.
Responsible to: Building Administration
Work Period: School Year
10 classes / 7 hours per week September through June / Rotating Schedule

This position is excluded from a bargaining unit and does NOT include benefits. The work schedule does not include school vacation periods or summer break.
