Responsibilities
- Develop and teach welding courses that meet industry standards and American Welding Society certification requirements.
- Maintain a safe and organized classroom environment, adhering to college policies and procedures.
- Evaluate student progress, provide feedback, and make recommendations for improvement.
- Collaborate with industry partners to ensure relevancy of the curriculum.
Requirements
- Diploma in Welding Technology from a regionally accredited post-secondary institution or equivalent.
- Current welding certifications (obtained or held within the past 5 years), such as Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), and Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW).
- A minimum of 3 years of recent and relevant industry experience as a welder, with experience welding to American Welding Society certification standards.
- Familiarity with oxy fuel cutting and other thermal cutting processes, as well as visual inspection of welds to a code or standard.
