The jobholder is responsible for all facets of travel for college faculty/staff/students including the initial request to travel, the closeout of the travel and the tracking of all outstanding travel. This is not a travel agent position. The clerk is also responsible for review and approval of procurement card reconciliations for proper coding and sales/use tax accruals. S/he assists with the year-end close out process as necessary.
Min Salary $22,160.50 Mid Salary $24,930.57 - We offer a competitive salary package that will be determined based on the candidate's experience level and qualifications related to the job. High School diploma with a minimum of one-year applicable experience required. Equivalent combinations of education and experience that provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be evaluated on an individual basis.

Associate Degree in Accounting
Experience Required Experience Preferred
Three years general office experience, including accounting and related functions, preferred.
KSA Required
- Proficiency with PC in word processing and developing spreadsheets.
- Proficient use of 10-key calculator.
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
- Ability to compose grammatically accurate correspondence to college personnel.
- Ability to be resourceful and work with limited direct supervision.
- Ability to maintain job effectiveness under stress.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to process high volume of work with accuracy and meet strict deadlines.
- Ability to reconcile accounts, statements, and prepare reports.
- Ability to apply GTCC administrative policy as it applies to the areas of assignment.
- Ability to serve customers pleasantly and efficiently in person and by telephone, communicate effectively with a commitment to quality customer service.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and exhibit discretion.
- Complete training on Anti-Harassment, Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), Personal Information Protection (PIP), Reporting Requirements, and Ethics Law in North Carolina.
- Knowledge of NC Sales & Use Tax
- Schedule may vary but is intended to be 5 days per week
