The program director will provide the vision and leadership required to support and enhance the mission of the Aviation Management and Career Pilot program. Primary administrative responsibilities include program development / management, budget administration, providing supervision and mentoring to part time faculty and coordinating the preparation, approval and implementation of the Federal Aviation Part 141 manual and related records and student records. Instructional responsibilities require a broad-based knowledge of the aviation industry and requirements of an FAA approved Part 141 program. The Program Director is a member of the full-time faculty and reports to the Director of Aviation Programs. The program director will be expected to teach classes with release time allowed for administrative tasks. The program director will be responsible for growth planning for the department working in conjunction with the Director of Aviation

- Bachelor's Degree in an aviation or technically related field from a regionally accredited college / university
- Valid Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) pilot's certifications and endorsements to meet departmental requirements under Part 141 to include Flight Instructor's Certificate. (Commercial Instrument CFI CFII)

Specific Departmental Requirements :
1. The individual must meet TSA badging requirements to function in the Airport Operating Area at Piedmont Triad International (PTI) airport.
2. Individual must be able to safely operate aircraft and aircraft systems.
3. Individual must have or be eligible for a North Carolina Driver's License and have an acceptable driving record.
4. Individual must have or be eligible to obtain certification in forklift operation.
