Emergency Medical Technician Intern Program
Job Overview
We are seeking dedicated Intern's to attend a fully paid Emergency Medical Technician and Advanced Emergency Medical Technician training academy to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about helping patients and have an interest in healthcare and providing high-quality care to patients in critical situations. We will be sponsoring interns to attend the Basic Emergency Medical Technician and Advanced Emergency Medical Technician training full time 36 hours per week. Successful candidate who complete the paid training will be eligible for Full Time employment with full benefits following certification by NYS.
Responsibilities
- Attend the Full Time Basic Emergency Medical Technician and Advanced Emergency Medical Technician Course in an academy style setting.
- Complete classroom and clinical training while being paid to work in EMS along side currently certified EMT's and Paramedics.
- Respond to emergency calls promptly and provide efficient and immediate care to the critically ill or injured
- Assess the patient's condition and determine a course of treatment
- Administer medications and operate medical equipment
- Transport patients to the ER or other medical facilities as needed
- Collaborate with Paramedics, nurses, and physicians to ensure seamless patient care
- Complete and maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with medical protocols
- Follow all company SOP's
Qualifications
- Able to attend the Basic Emergency Medical Technician and the Advanced Emergency Medical Technician Academy starting in February or March 2025.
- Able to lift and carry in accordance with equipment to perform the job duties associated with this training.
- Must be able to pass a background check to become certified by the NYS DOH following provided training.
- Prior experience working in healthcare preferred but not required.
- Valid New York State Drivers Licenser Class E or higher is required
- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- Ability to drive emergency vehicles safely and efficiently with training
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to perform all essential functions of the job
