Job Description
Gulbrandsen, a manufacturer of chemical intermediates, fine chemicals, and catalysts for process industry requirements is seeking a full-time Logistics Planner.
BASIC DESCRIPTION:
The Logistics Planner is responsible for the preparation of shipping documents and coordination. Performs administrative duties pertaining to the same such as tracking, data entry, emailing final documents, creating product labels, spreadsheets, etc. The Logistics Planner will also provide backup for doing the Bulk Truck Schedule when necessary.
Hazardous Materials Handling, Shipping Hazmat, preferred but not necessary.
Common Knowledge of Export/Import desired.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associates Degree
- At least 3 years of logistics experience
- Proven conflict resolution ability
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities
- Excellent organizational skills
- Must be able to work effectively in high pressure situations in a fast-paced environment
- Aptitude to learn rapidly and adapt quickly to changing situations
- Ability to work with little supervision and track multiple processes
- Working knowledge with SAP
- Experience shipping HAZMAT
LIST of DUTIES
This list is an outline of day-to-day functions by a shipping coordinator but the job is not limited to these functions.
The Logistics Supervisor will reserve the right to add duties as they become necessary.
- Prepare Shipment Paperwork for Daily Shipments using SAP Software Components.
- Prepare Bills of Lading for LTL, Export, Bulk, and any special shipments
- Create labels for packaging
- Schedule Carriers
- Any other necessary items in order to meet shipment requirements
- Assign Drivers from Bulk Schedule.
- Review the entire schedule for accuracy against open orders
- Assign driver paperwork based on schedule and ensure all paperwork is in the correct Driver’s box for pickup.
- Secure Carriers for all One-Way Shipments and any per Supervisor Request
- Update and maintain Shipment Board Daily
- Review orders as received for accuracy, and missing information
- Maintain Spreadsheets for Tracking Shipment deliveries as required by Shipping Supervisor. (Railroad, Export, etc.)
- Responsible for performing weekly shipping audits
- Providing Freight Quotes when requested
- Required to work overtime and weekends when necessary to meet shipment needs
- Handle Railcar Shipments for returning cars and also communicate with the railroad when there are delays or issues
- Daily scanning, filing, and faxing of paperwork.
- Special requests from other departments such as quotes, tracking, and confirming delivery times.

- Any other duties as deemed necessary by the immediate Supervisor or other members of management
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
