The Gulf Breeze Zoo is a 50-acre facility, located in Gulf Breeze just east of Pensacola, Florida. This ZAA-Accredited facility is home to a diverse collection of animals, including Nile hippos, white rhinos, giraffe, various hoofed stock species, as well as gorillas, orangutans, myriad species of smaller primates, large cats and bears, a petting area, and a wide assortment of birds and reptiles.
Job Description: Food and Beverage Manager
The Food and Beverage Manager is a customer-oriented position responsible for managing the overall F&B operations in order to achieve customer satisfaction, quality of food and beverage service, compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as federal, state and local regulations while meeting/exceeding financial goals for the F&B Operations. The Gulf Breeze Zoo has one dine-in restaurant on site, and anticipates additional F&B satellites in the near future. This person will report directly to the Guest Services Manager and be responsible for (but not limited to) overseeing day-to-day food and beverage operations, inventory and ordering, quality and waste control, supervising, leading and training food and beverage staff members. Additional Responsibilities:
- Provides leadership and direction to team members
- Maintains high standards of guest services throughout all operations
- Operates cash registers and assists with front and back of house operations
- Enforces daily/weekly/monthly cleaning schedules
- Aides in keeping SOPs up to date and ensures staff are following procedures efficiently
- Monitors and maintains the productivity level of employees
- Develops specific goals and plans to prioritze, organize and accomplish work
- Places food and beverage supply orders
- Ensures the property quantity and control of Food, Beverage and other supplies to include cost controls, quality control, inventory accuracy and rotating of stock
- Organizes regularly scheduled training classes and meetings to meet food code regulation requirements
- Establishes professional relationships with vendors
- Assists with hiring and training new team members
Requirements:
- This is a full-time position with 40 scheduled hours per week
- Minimum 5 years experience in customer service/food & beverage operations
- Must be ServSafe Manager certified or willing to complete the course within 60 days of employment
- Must complete the Responsible Vendor Alcohol Manager Course within 15 days of employment
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand on feet for duration of shift
- Must be able to work weekends, holidays and school breaks
- Must have proficient computer skills with knowledge of Excel and Word
- Must be proficient in cash handling
- Must be a team player with excellent teamwork and leadership skills
- Ability to follow a strict personal dress code and maintain a valid driver’s license is required.
