POSITION: CHILDREN’S PROGRAM CASE MANAGER

STATUS: NON-EXEMPT

WAGE PER HOUR: $18.27

LOCATION: BILOXI, MS

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: CHILDREN’S SERVICES MANAGER

HOURS: Full-time Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Some additional evening and weekend work may be required.

SUMMARY: Responsible for oversight or implementation of children’s program activities and resources. Provide onsite childcare services for residential and nonresidential clients

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development, social work, or other related field is required.

Must be able to work effectively with diverse groups of clients, staff and individuals in the community.

Ability to work diplomatically in order to gain and maintain professional relationships with various community partners and contacts

Ability to work with minimal supervision, as well as in a team environment

Ability to express complex information and ideas both verbally and in writing.

Ability to work within agency mission, philosophy and policies/procedures.

Must have a reliable vehicle and meet agency driving policy requirements, including a valid driver license and proof of required automobile insurance. Ability to obtain Class D driver license. Local travel required

General physical requirements include but are not limited to: bending, stooping, climbing stairs, prolonged sitting of more than 4 hours. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

PROGRAM:

· Coordinate school enrollment and facilitate child/parent/school relationships

· Assess and identify community resources for children’s projects or needs

· Serve as liaison with social service agencies to meet clients’ needs

· Host volunteers for the Children's Program

· Coordinate and implement back-to-school events, school break activities, summer camp enrollment, and holiday/birthday celebrations for residential children

· Create and maintain monthly children’s activities calendar

· Attend weekly clinical staffing meetings

· Represent the agency and Children’s Program at community meetings

· Facilitate weekly parenting classes with shelter residents

· Attend Children’s Department staff meetings

· Coordinate agency annual adopt a family holiday program

CHILDCARE SERVICES:

· Provide on-site childcare services for residential and nonresidential clients

· Provide support/respite services to residential parents

· Provide transportation to off-site programs, school, and/or summer camps as needed

· Follow guidelines outlined in the Incredible Years curriculum.

· Maintain daily logs of children receiving childcare and provides data to appropriate staff

· Provide positive and encouraging support to children receiving services

· Inform the Children’s Services Manager of any children with special needs

· Inform parents of children’s progress

· Provides homework assistance as needed

AGENCY COMPLIANCE

· Maintain comprehensive and organized files utilizing the automated data and case management system

· Adhere to the agency’s confidentiality policies, maintaining a high-level standard of confidentiality

· Compile and accurately report all applicable program statistics and educational activities on time and as directed

· Report any known or suspected child abuse to immediate supervisor

· Report any suspicious activity or persons

· Attend and participate in agency staff meetings and trainings

· Report to work on time as scheduled

· Maintain a valid driver license and proof of required automobile insurance

· Perform all other duties and/or participate in special projects as assigned by direct supervisor or Chief Executive Officer.

OTHER

· Participate in hurricane evacuation and facility preparation.

· In case of emergencies and extreme circumstances, will be required to assist with 24-hour shelter coverage

· Work in conjunction with other program components and staff to ensure effective communication of agency and client concerns, recommendations, and needs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.27 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
