What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family Support Specialist position at Gulf Coast Children's Advocacy Center?
We are looking to add a dynamic individual to our team! The ideal candidate is someone who is organized, efficient, patient and friendly. The candidate who fills this position plays a very important role, as he or she will be the the first person our clients and community partners encounter upon arriving to our center.
Qualifications: Prior experience working in a social services organization preferred. Must possess the ability to handle confidential information appropriately; have knowledge of community resources; have the ability to effectively interact with families from diverse cultures; possess good verbal and written communication skills.
Essential Functions: This role serves to support and assist children who are victims of crime.
Primary Functions:
- Greet child victims and their families upon arrival to the center. Answering phones and transferring calls. (10%)
- Assistance in procuring concrete services (housing, protective orders, domestic violence intervention, food, transportation, public assistance, etc.) (40%)
- Conduct and complete victim satisfaction surveys and needs assessments to improve victim services delivery. (50%)
