Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced, compassionate, and skilled Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary mental health care team. The successful candidate will have expertise in psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment, including medication management, for a diverse population of patients across a spectrum of psychiatric conditions.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations to develop accurate diagnoses and inform treatment plans.
- Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
- Monitor the patient’s response to treatment and make necessary adjustments.
- Educate patients and families on psychiatric disorders and treatment strategies, promoting an understanding of the condition, adherence to treatment, and prevention of relapses.
- Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records, and uphold patient confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines.
- Provide crisis intervention as needed.
- Stay up-to-date with latest trends and best practices in psychiatric nursing.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree or doctoral degree in nursing with a specialization in psychiatry.
- Current and unrestricted license as a Nurse Practitioner in the state in which the clinic is located.
- Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) required.
- Proven experience in a psychiatric nursing role.
- Strong understanding of and ability to comply with legal and ethical standards of nursing.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to empathize with, convey information to, and build relationships with patients.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Ability to work as part of a team and to handle a potentially stressful work environment.

Salary : $100,000 - $130,000
