WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The Disaster Case Manager is a non-exempt position responsible for working directly with individuals and families affected by a natural disaster, assisting them in navigating the recovery process by identifying their needs, connecting them to available resources, and advocating for their needs to ensure equitable access to disaster relief services.
- Identify and connect individuals to relevant disaster relief programs, government assistance, community support services, and private donations.
- Act as an advocate for survivors, particularly for those facing barriers or complex situations, to ensure they receive necessary support.
- Work with other disaster relief organizations, government agencies, and community partners to coordinate services and avoid duplication of efforts.
- Ensure concise and timely completion of all documentation according to contract requirements, including entering all case activities into the electronic health records system within two (2) business days.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

High School Diploma or equivalent with three (3) or more years of progressive case management experience in the field of human services; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Bachelors degree from four-year college or university preferred.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with disaster survivors from diverse backgrounds.
- Knowledge of disaster recovery resources, eligibility criteria, and application processes at the local, state, and federal levels.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage a complex caseload.
- Understanding of the psychological impact of disasters and the ability to provide empathetic support.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate recordkeeping.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities.
- Bilingual preferred.
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Must have a valid drivers' license with auto insurance coverage
