Seeking experienced, multi-talented, outstanding individuals to provide professional, customer-focused service for our patients in the medical assisting/LPN position. Our practice offers multi-specialty medical services in a friendly, professional atmosphere. Our offices are in West Pasco and Hernando--we are hiring for our Trinity Florida location. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensures that all recent consults, labs, and diagnostic tests are in the chart prior to the provider seeing the patient.
- Ensures that each exam room has adequate supplies to complete all necessary procedures and keeps all exam rooms and back office areas neat and clean.
- Escorts patient to the exam room, interviews the patient to collect information related to why the patient is here, and obtains vital signs, medications, weight, and height. Records chief complaint.
- Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician.
- Collects blood or other lab specimens, logs the specimens, and prepares them for testing.
- Explains treatment procedures, medications, diets, and physicians’ instructions to patients and obtains consents and/or ABN as appropriate.
- Assists physicians in examinations and/or treatment of patients. (Handing them instruments and materials or performing such tasks as giving injections or removing sutures). Performs other tasks as assigned.
- Verifies all requests for drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies.
- Cleans and sterilizes instruments and disposes of contaminated supplies. Remaining compliant with OSHA and the Health Department standards as per company policy.
- Basic procedures such as EKG, PFT, injections.
- Contacts medical facilities or ancillary departments to schedule patients for tests or admission as ordered by the provider.
- Ensures excellent patient satisfaction
- Inventory and order medical, lab, or office supplies and equipment on a regular basis.
- Follows office policy and procedure regarding disposal of expired supplies and medicine.
- Completes all other tasks as assigned including but not limited to, call backs, diagnostic results, lab duties, etc.
- Requirements
- Proven experience as a licensed practical nurse or medical assistant
- Excellent knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures
- Excellent knowledge of emergency care
- In-depth knowledge of health and safety guidelines and procedures (sanitation, decontamination etc.) and willingness to follow them at all times
- A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Responsible and compassionate
- Outstanding organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Patience with excellent problem-solving skills
- Social perceptiveness and service-oriented
- BS or other diploma from a nursing program
- Valid nursing license
- Proficient in use of electronic medical records ECLINICAL WORKS Medical Software a plus.
- MA Certification or LPN License and experience desired.
- Job Type: Full-time or Part-Time
- Pay: $20.00- $22.00 per hour based on experience.
- Hours vary and flexible Monday – Saturday
