What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full Time (On-Call) Direct Service Worker (Floater) position at Gulf Coast Social Services - HOUMA?
The Houma regional office is seeking an On-Call Direct Service Worker (Floater) to work with individuals in the Houma area and the surrounding parishes with daily living tasks. Services will be rendered in the client’s home and in the community. Floaters will need to be available for days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holiday shifts as required by the supervisor.
This position requires a high school diploma/GED/trade school diploma in the area of human services, and a minimum of 23 years of age. This position requires a sincere interest in working with and helping individuals reach their maximum potential. This position requires an individual with good reading and writing skills along with the qualities of patience, empathy, dependability, and the ability to teach others. The ability to handle multiple responsibilities with accuracy and the ability to accept direction from supervisor required.
