Gulf Coast Transit Solutions (GCTS) is dedicated to providing compassionate and reliable transportation services to patients in our community. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Transport Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring the safe and timely transport of patients to their medical appointments and between various medical facilities, while upholding our commitment to professionalism, patient care, and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate company vehicles, including vans or buses, to transport medical patients to and from their destinations.
- Assist patients with boarding, disembarking, and transferring into wheelchairs or stretchers, ensuring their comfort and safety at all times.
- Maintain the cleanliness, safety, and proper operation of the vehicle, adhering to company standards and protocols.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by treating patients with care, dignity, and respect.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, healthcare providers, and colleagues, ensuring clear and compassionate interactions.
- Strictly adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies while on duty.
- Provide assistance to patients with special needs, ensuring their needs are met throughout the transport process.
- Accurately complete and submit all required documentation, including trip logs and patient information, in a timely manner.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Prior experience in medical transportation, paratransit, school bus driving, or commercial driving is highly preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Strong commitment to patient safety, with the ability to handle patients of varying mobility levels with care and respect.
- Demonstrated punctuality, reliability, and the ability to adhere to a tight schedule.
- Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to create a positive experience for patients and their families.
- Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and the ability to perform routine checks and report any issues promptly.
- Familiarity with medical transport equipment, such as wheelchairs and stretchers, is a plus.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations, including medical emergencies.
