Position Description

This role will focus on promoting and selling surveying services—including land surveying, topographic surveying, boundary surveys, hydrographic surveys, construction layout, and as-built survey services. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of the surveying field, excellent relationship-building skills and a proven track record of surveying services sales.

Essential Functions

  • Identify, meet and develop rapport with those persons within target-companies who influence project decision management
  • Attend industry events, conferences, and networking functions to promote the company's surveying services
  • Maintains and develop relationships and services existing / new clients
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for proposed projects.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to clients / prospects
  • Respond to client's / prospect's questions and requests
  • Assist in proposal preparation and contract negotiations
  • Coordinate the writing of technical papers for publishing in appropriate trade journals
  • Ensure that Customer Relationship Management System is up to date and accurate
  • Participate in industry trade shows
  • Preparation of sales call reports
  • Continuously maintain product and industry knowledge and interpersonal skills
  • Work closely with the surveying and project management teams to ensure successful project handoffs and customer satisfaction
  • Provide feedback and market insights to help shape service offerings, pricing strategies, and marketing efforts

Qualifications

  • 5 - 10 years of experience in surveying or business development
  • Sales experience in the surveying industry
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of engineering requirements pertaining to the oil and gas industry
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills

    Education

    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
