Essential Duties And Responsibilities

This position is responsible for the following: Other duties may be assigned.

• Knowledgeable in one or more craft trades such as welding, pipe/plate/structural fitting, rigging, electrical, mechanical, machining, etc.
• Assist Superintendent and able to perform all the requirements of a foreman.
• In charge of multiple foremen.
• Supervise, coordinate, or assist the activities of the Foreman.
• Analyze workers or production problems and recommend solutions, such as improving production methods or implementing motivational plans.
• Confer with managerial or technical personnel, other departments, or contractors to resolve problems or to coordinate activities.
• Estimate material or worker requirements to complete jobs.
• Examine and inspect work progress, equipment, and yard sites to verify safety and to ensure that specifications are met.
• Record information such as personnel, production, or operational data on specified forms or reports.
• May assist Foreman with crew time sheets and Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
  
  

Required Education & Experience

• High School Diploma and/or one year certificate from college or technical school preferred.
• Industrial and/or marine journeyman experience, along with a minimum of 5 years supervisory experience preferred.
  
  

Working Conditions

• Open-air conditions such as noisy, hot, cold, etc.
• You must wear hearing, eye, head protection and proper PPE.
• Some climbing (100 feet) and lifting (50 lbs.) involved.
• Traverse gangways and scaffolding at varying heights while wearing fall prevention equipment.
• Working with hot and sometimes hazardous materials.
• Aboard ships, both on and offshore as well as confined spaces.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings and technical manuals.
• Perform basic mathematical functions.
