This position is responsible for the following: Other duties may be assigned.
- Will examine the bill of lading provided by customers. This examination is to verify that the bill of landing contains the project number, unit number, quantities, and find (part) number.
- Assist with the unloading of materials sent via truck or barge from customers verifying the bill of lading received matches the transport company’s bill of lading. Make sure all materials are off loaded and accounted for based off bill of lading.
- Cannot check materials until the customer representative arrives. The customer representative will assist with the receiving of materials.
- Material handler and customer representative will receive all materials based off bill of ladings.
- Will assist production personnel with placing materials for each unit in its designated areas.
- Document all parts on the bill of lading that have been received; including quantities, and any damaged materials found.
- Document any missing items from bill of lading and provide to QC.
- Work with production personnel comparing the materials on the bill of lading to the drawings part list.
- Assist QC with taking panel dimensions for accurate control when he/she has time and has been asked to assist.
- Assist Production with panel fabrication when he/she has time and has been asked to assist. Consisting of helping take measurements, grinding, and cleaning shop areas.
- High School Diploma, some college or technical school certification.
- A minimum of 6 months to 1 years’ experience in warehousing, production, or inventory management is preferred.
- Regular exposure to all weather conditions, especially hot, humid and / or rainy weather, combined with regular work time indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.
- Computer Skills
- Forklift (extend a boom) operating abilities.
- Operate shop overhead cranes.
