Position Description Independent Channel Manager
Reports to: Managing Director
Position Objective:
The Independent Channel Manager is responsible leading the sales and merchandising efforts in the retail market, while providing cross departmental direction and communication.
Description of Physical Tasks:
Keep shelves and vendors clean. Place product on hand truck or dolly (approximately 20 to 50 lbs per case). Pushes/pulls hand truck to machine or shelves and loads appropriate company products. Climbing in and out of vehicle and proper lifting techniques.
Responsibilities Include:
- Provide leadership, direction, and coaching for selling efforts and initiatives focusing on the retail market.
- Prepare and communicate sales analysis and direction for retail market as needed or requested.
- Provide cross departmental direction and communication for sales department.
- Conduct Sales Power Coaching work withs in the retail market.
- Directly call on and interact with customers to transact sales of company products through personal selling efforts.
- Make sales calls on assigned accounts to ensure close working relationships with owners and managers.
- Call on new accounts prior to opening and non-buying accounts monthly.
- Be aware of all competitive activity within retail market, including opportunities that can increase sales.
- Spend minimum, 75%, of your time in the field or market making sales or working to grow sales in assigned territory.
- Prepare monthly approved sales and marketing plan identifying objectives for the month.
- Participate in daily team huddle calls, & weekly team meetings to discuss sales and customer growth.
- Prepare and participate in the bi-monthly sales meetings to discuss promoting sales and customer growth.
- Perform any incidental or secondary duties as needed or requested in furtherance of sales objectives.
- Conduct all activities within the guidelines of all company policies and procedures.
- Conduct all activities in accordance with the local, state, and federal liquor control regulations.
- Perform all work activities in accordance with safe work practices, policies, and procedures.
- All other duties as assigned.
