JOB SUMMARY:
Promoting talent development as an organizational priority by designing and executing formal training programs. This position will periodically assess business needs and goals to establish and maintain learning systems that aim to drive continuous learning and improvement, and to stretch staff identified as high performing and/or high potentials. As a partner to the Human Resources Team, this position will also share responsibility for performance coaching efforts. The Training & Development Manager will partner with other internal teams, such as Safety and Strategic Operation, as well as identifying external resources and programs to facilitate the most effective learning opportunities.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Partner with leadership to identify talent development solutions that will have a measurable impact on productivity and performance.
- Assess development needs and curate programs to match those needs.
- Conduct follow-up studies of all completed training to evaluate and measure results; modify programs as needed; develop effective, multi-media training materials.
- Coordinate training schedules to minimize business disruption.
- Evaluate external training resources for applicability and effectiveness.
- Coach staff/ managers involved in training efforts, providing effective growth and development opportunities.
- Support programs that aim to establish a foundation for succession planning by developing the leadership skills of employees identified as high potential and/or high performing. and succession plan for talent development opportunities.
- Develop effective communication campaigns through use of various mediums to ensure staff/managers are well informed on upcoming training opportunities.
- Facilitate all internal development.
- Monitor and manage spending to ensure cost containment and that the departments budget is not exceeded.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Effectively uses office equipment (copiers, fax machines, scanners), a personal computer and Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Explorer.
- Efficiently uses operations management software, including UKG, and LMS
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree in a related field from an accredited university required.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in Talent Development, Human Resources, Management, or related field, preferably in an engineering or related environment
- Strong knowledge of adult learning theory, instructional design, and instruction methods, preferably as applicable to engineering industry roles, terminology, and processes
- Strong understanding of leadership and supervisory roles and their functions
- Strong knowledge of and ability to apply Learning Management Systems (LMS) best practices
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Ability to manage a departmental budget.
- Proficient in coaching and mentoring, both in application and instruction
- Professional and effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to give an influential and/or informative presentation.
- Ability to facilitate meetings and programs to ensure smooth delivery facilitation skills.
- Ability to successfully lead a team to meet objectives timely, accurately, and successfully.
- Ability to build and maintain successful, professional relationships with Teammates of all levels.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure consistent professionalism and accuracy.
- Ability to motivate with a positive will win attitude.

- Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license.
