Job Overview

The Shipping and Receiving Worker manages all incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Responsibilities include order preparation, truck loading and unloading, and maintaining an organized shipping area while assisting the shipping supervisor as needed.
Role and Responsibilities
· Verify and maintain records of shipments by comparing identifying information against bills of lading, invoices, and work orders.
· Select appropriate shipping methods based on knowledge of procedures, routes, and rates.
· Label packed cartons or stencil identifying information on crates and containers.
· Prepare small items using appropriate packaging materials to ensure safe transport.
· Apply shipping instructions to crates or containers as required.
· Record weights and shipping charges, affixing postage accordingly.
· Inspect incoming shipments, reject damaged items, and coordinate with shippers to resolve issues.
· Scan and store incoming job data, create data packs, and assign work orders.
· Route items to appropriate departments such as Teardown or Outfitting.
· Ensure outgoing shipments meet specifications and quality standards.
· Proactively manage inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
· Assist team members in preparing shipments and handling received goods.
· Handle the return of damaged or defective goods in coordination with suppliers.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
· Unload deliveries, move and rearrange motors within the warehouse.
· Accurately log daily moves, inventory scanning, and counts.
· Interact professionally with vendors and drivers, ensuring effective communication.
· Provide backup support to the shipping and receiving departments as needed.
Requirements
· 2 years of experience in manufacturing shipping/receiving, including international shipping.
· 2 years of forklift operation experience.
· Experience with ERP systems for managing shipments (VISUAL Enterprise is a plus).
· High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
· Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify errors.
