Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Supervisor to oversee and coordinate electrical maintenance, installations, and operations on-site. This position involves supervising a team of electricians, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and ensuring high-quality work is completed on time. The ideal candidate will have extensive electrical systems experience in industrial or marine industry, area classification, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise, guide, and evaluate the performance of a team of electricians and contractors.
- Plan, organize, and coordinate electrical work and projects, ensuring tasks are completed according to technical specifications, safety guidelines, and timelines.
- Inspect electrical systems, wiring, and equipment to ensure they are functioning properly and meet safety standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues quickly and effectively, minimizing downtime.
- Ensure adherence to all local, state, and national electrical codes, standards, and regulations as well as USCG and ABS standards and regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of all electrical work, inspections, and repairs.
- Ensure that tools and equipment are maintained and in good working order.
- Prepare work schedules and assign tasks to team members.
- Provide training and guidance to junior electricians to improve skills and knowledge.
- Oversee procurement and inventory of electrical materials and equipment.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other departments to ensure electrical systems are integrated into broader project plans.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; a degree or technical certification in electrical is preferred.
- 10 years of experience working as an electrician, with at least [2] years in a supervisory role.
- In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, installation, and maintenance.
- Familiarity with electrical codes, safety standards, and regulations.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues under pressure.
- Certification and licensure as an electrician is a plus but not a requirement.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Proficient in using electrical testing equipment and tools.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in various physical environments, including confined spaces, high places, and areas with potential hazards.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and tools (up to [50] lbs
