Position: Maintenance Technician
Reports to: Plant Manager
Location: Weiner, Arkansas (Otwell Facility)

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing routine and emergency maintenance on machinery and equipment within a food manufacturing environment. Position requires demonstration of competency for all on-the-job activities that may have a direct or indirect effect on production uptime, product safety, and/or quality. In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of maintenance while ensuring OSHA procedures are in place and documented in compliance with regulatory and codes. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.

Responsibilities:

· Complies with all Company policies and procedures (GMP's, HAACP, Safety, etc.).

· Monitors, inspects, and performs preventative maintenance on equipment and machinery.

· Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

· Creates and completes work orders as assigned.

· Performs equipment changeovers and production line set-ups.

· Evaluates existing equipment to determine alternate uses for improvement and enhanced results.

· Communicates with internal and external technical support.

· Designs and builds new mechanical components or assemblies for products such as industrial equipment and machinery, power equipment, servosystems, machine tools, and measuring instruments.

· Provides support and guidance to the department in repair work, installation, or adjustments.

· Assist with the installation and alignment of new equipment.

· Ensure that all equipment is set up according to manufacturer specifications and safety standards.

· Provide technical support and guidance to operators and other staff on proper equipment use and maintenance.

· Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used.

· Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.

· Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations specific to the rice milling industry.

· Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and malfunctions.

· Perform emergency repairs as needed to minimize production downtime.

· Maintain an inventory of necessary tools, spare parts, and maintenance supplies.

· Order and replace parts as needed, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.

· Document all maintenance activities and repairs performed.

· Reports significant issues or potential improvements to Supervisor or Plant Manager.

Education and Experience:

· High school diploma or equivalent certification required.

· Minimum of 5 years’ progressive experience in maintenance in a manufacturing environment.

· 2 years of commercial or industrial maintenance-related experience.

· Extensive knowledge of electrical controls, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical components.

· Experience with computerized maintenance tracking systems, particularly preventative maintenance.

Required Skills:

· Strong mechanical aptitude and critical thinking skills.

· Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.

· Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.

· Skilled in identifying issues, replacing or repairing components, conducting tests, and making necessary adjustments.

· Skilled in designing and building new mechanical components and assemblies for equipment and machinery.

· Commitment to continuous improvement.

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform physically demanding tasks.

· Comfortable working in varying environmental conditions, including noisy and dusty environments.

Pay: $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
