Job Overview:
As a Quality Technician in the Quality Assurance Department, your role continues to be critical in ensuring that our rice, flour, beans, and spice products meet the high standards of quality and safety set by our company. You are responsible for conducting regular quality inspections, tests, and audits throughout the production and packaging processes. Your attention to detail and proactive approach help maintain compliance with regulatory standards and improve product consistency, supporting the continued success of our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Control & Testing:
- Consistently perform regular quality control tests on raw materials (rice, flour, beans, spices) and finished products, ensuring they meet all specifications for quality, weight, texture, and safety.
- Conduct tests such as moisture content analysis, particle size measurement, and visual checks on packaging for rice, flour, beans, and spices.
- Ensure that finished goods are compliant with company quality standards before being released for packaging.
- Production Line Inspections:
- Inspect production lines daily to monitor adherence to quality control standards and identify any potential issues with production or packaging.
- Perform spot checks of packaging integrity, ensuring that labels, weights, and seals are correct for all products (rice, flour, beans, spices).
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Accurately document inspection and testing results, providing clear and timely reports to the Quality Manager and relevant team members.
- Maintain proper records of all quality control activities, noting any deviations and corrective actions taken to ensure transparency and accountability.
- Assist with generating reports to track trends in quality and identify areas for improvement.
- Problem Solving & Corrective Actions:
- Quickly identify any quality issues in raw materials, production, or packaging and work collaboratively with the production team to investigate the root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Track ongoing issues and collaborate on solutions to minimize recurring problems in the production process.
- Compliance & Audits:
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, including HACCP, GMP, and ISO standards.
- Prepare for internal and external audits by ensuring all quality control documentation is up to date and accurate.
- Assist in internal audits and inspections to maintain our high standards and meet regulatory requirements.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Suggest and participate in initiatives to improve quality control processes, enhancing efficiency and ensuring the highest quality in every batch of product.
- Stay informed of industry best practices and new technologies to improve the quality and safety of products.
- Training & Support:
- Assist in training new team members and production staff on quality standards, proper testing methods, and adherence to safety procedures.
- Provide ongoing support to production teams, ensuring everyone understands the importance of maintaining quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
Expectations & Performance:
- Quality Maintenance: You are expected to uphold the highest level of quality control throughout your daily tasks, ensuring that each product meets the rigorous standards expected by our customers.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including production, maintenance, and the Quality Manager, to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence. Assist with other duties as assigned.
- Efficiency & Accuracy: Demonstrate efficiency in performing quality checks, maintaining meticulous records, and ensuring all actions are taken in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Safety & Compliance: Continue to follow all safety guidelines, and work to identify potential hazards or risks to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Quality Technician or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of quality control processes in a food manufacturing environment (milling, packaging, or spices is a plus).
- In-depth knowledge of food safety standards, including HACCP, GMP, and ISO regulations.
- Ability to perform and document accurate quality tests, including moisture content analysis, particle size measurement, and packaging checks.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication skills for reporting findings and collaborating with team members.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
- Capability to stand for extended periods during inspections and testing.
- Ability to work in varying production environments, including potential exposure to noise, dust, and different temperatures.
