Assists Aquatics Coordinator with daily operations of pool and supervision of aquatics staff. Monitors and responds to pool chemical and equipment maintenance and issues. Leads inspection and maintenance of safety equipment, chemical storage and maintains MSDS information. Assists in training and supervision of Lifeguard 1 staff. Performs technical tasks to ensure the safety of all pool patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies, monitoring swimming pool activities, enforcing water safety rules and regulations, and performing pool maintenance in compliance with policies and procedures. Coordinates and oversees swim meet and other event set up and execution.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Assists coordinator with daily pool operations. Leads daily safety inspections and pool maintenance and communicates issues, work orders, actions taken, and follow up to Aquatics Supervisor. Leads LG I Staff in safety inspections, equipment maintenance and cleaning.Relays or communicates daily events to Aquatics Supervisor and Aquatics Programs Specialist and maintain communication of pressing issues or needsCoordinate with lifeguards to provide necessary notifications, signage, equipment, preparation to ensure patron safety and accessibility. Coordinates with Coordinator and Programs Specialist to prepare, set up and oversee swim meets and events.Completes related administrative tasks for the department; completes daily and monthly logs, accident and incident reports, work order request forms, and related documents. Assists Coordinator with reviewing and updating EAPs, pool procedures, inventory records, and related records. Maintains MSDS, chemical inventory, storage and purchasing logs. Maintains and monitors pool maintenance communication logs. .Performs technical tasks to ensure the safety of all pool patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies in the entire Bodenhamer facility, monitoring swimming pool activities, recognizes and responds to emergency situations; enforcing water safety rules and regulations, and performing pool maintenance in compliance with policies and procedures. Responds to emergencies in the rest of the facility when alerted to incidents by other support staff.Conducts routine inspections of pool, surrounding area, and pool equipment including ladders, handles, and steps; inspects pool and ensures water is free of debris, drain covers are clean and secured, and handicap chair is clean and free of debris; ensures deck is clean and free of hazardous conditions. Routinely checks locker rooms for hazards or cleanliness issues and alerts Coordinator and support staff to resolve the issue. Completes various safety inspection tasks; ensures safety equipment is in good working order; maintains first aid station for cleanliness; ensures first aid station is stocked with appropriate supplies; ensures equipment used by patrons is safe for use including noodles, kickboards, water game equipment, aquabelts, and related items; ensures all chemicals and cleaning supplies are stored properly with doors labeled and locked; monitors chemical storage area and pool area for suspicious odors; monitors pump and insures it is in proper working order with no leaks.May assist in coaching swim team.Responds to Code Red/Code Black radio calls to assess and properly respond to emergencies in the building and adjacent facilities. Communicates via walkie talkie radios with fellow facility staff.
