Now Hiring: Temporary Casual Workers

Looking for flexible, on-your-feet work that fits your life? Gulf Stream Marine is hiring Temporary Casual Workers to support cargo handling operations at our terminals. Whether you're looking to pick up extra hours, work around school, or transition back into the workforce—this opportunity gives you freedom, structure, and stability without long-term commitment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with loading and unloading cargo from vessels, trucks, and rail
• Support inventory counts, tagging, and documentation
• Work closely with checkers, crane operators, and dock supervisors
• Follow all safety protocols and terminal procedures
  
  

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a Longshoreman with cargo rigging (lashing/strapping) in a marine terminal or any of the following experience: baggage handling, package handling, manual loading and unloading cargo from trucks, trailers, or railcars.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Must have the ability to read, write, and speak basic English.
• Must have the ability to function effectively in a fast paced, team-oriented work environment.
• Must have the ability to work independently with limited supervision and strong initiative.
• Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees.
• Must have the ability to think logically, follow procedures, instructions and make sound decisions.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

• Employee is required to perform an abundance of physical manual labor.
• Must be able to work at heights, within enclosed/confined spaces, in noisy environments with moving equipment and in adverse climatic conditions.
